Heather + Coty : A Dreamy Day in Fairhope

Photos by Ashley Pigulski Photography

When Heather reached out to me in the early Fall of 2018, it was evident early on that every detail of this wedding would be purposeful and a representation of love. A love that was not just obvious between Heather and Coty, but a love that this couple had for the people in their lives. At the time the couple lived in Hawaii, but they wanted to share their special day with their close family and friends in Fairhope, AL. With no time to waste and a time difference of about 8 hours, Heather and Coty poured out their vision for the day. The more we spoke, the more excited I became to be working with such a great couple!

Once the venue was booked, the details came together by partnering with great creative minds. The ceremony was held under the Tunnel of Trees at Oak Hollow Farms. Southern Veranda Flower and Gift Gallery out of Fairhope, AL brought the ceremony to life with their soft blush and warm cream floral arrangements. Against the cove of greenery, their florals brought the perfect touch to an intimate and meaningful ceremony. Imagine sitting in this dreamy tunnel with the subtle sounds of the violin and chello playing "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley, while the breathtaking bride walks down the aisle smiling and tearful towards her beaming soulmate. Are you tearing up too? Or is that just your "allergies"?

After the ceremony, guests were lead to The Barn while the family and wedding party stayed behind for Ashley Pigulski Photography and Livemore Weddings to work their magic behind their cameras. Alfie of C&A Rentals was a joy to work with in creating a space that was inviting and unique in the large barn at Oak Hollow Farms. With his experience and ability, we were able bring Heather and Coty's soft bohemian style vision to life with draping, lighting, and linens. The colors and warmth from the ceremony spilled into the reception area as guests were greeted by rose gold and blush toned accents lining the tables and accenting their tableware. Can I say dreamy one more time? As guest received their delicious food that was served by the gracious staff at Oak Hollow Farms, the family and wedding party made their way in. Soon after, Mr. and Mrs. Coty Walker was introduced by the DJ provided by Southern Sounds. After the cake from Oh Snap! Cupcakes and Gourmet Bakery was cut, the DJ kept the party going all through the night.

Once the final song was played, guest made their way out front with sparklers in hand, ready to wish the happy couple off to enjoy the rest of their lives together! On their way out, they grabbed a jar of honey, locally sourced from Kittrell's Daydream Apiary. Attached to each jar was a custom design created by Hannah by Grace Designs. Once through the front doors, the area was elegantly lit by strands of Edison bulbs set up by C&A Rentals and ends on the focal point, a retro, blue Volkswagen van from Little Point Clear out of Fairhope, AL. The look on the groom's face was of total surprise when he spotted the van, as this was a sweet, secret request that the bride made for him.

Planning this day was something that I will never forget. Watching the details that we worked so hard to prepare come together was like watching magic happen before our eyes. I am so thankful that Heather and Coty decided to take a chance on me and allow me to plan their special day. It was indeed special and always will be.
