Brie + JD: The Day We Remember in September

Photos by Ann Sinclair Photography

From the very first meeting with Brie and her mother, I knew that this would be a special season for all of us. With most our meetings reaching one to two hours of chat, we quickly formed a bond that allowed me to see the thoughtfulness that would come together that September day.

One of the fun aspects of Brie and JD's wedding includes their love for music. As you look through these pictures, you will see evidence of that everywhere. From the date to the dance floor, music was a key theme in this couple's special day. That and, of course, coffee! Notice those yummy desserts? Another memorable part of their day included the desserts made by Brie's mother. She is one of the many people that came together to make this day so sweet! (Pun intended)

Classic and elegance come to mind when I remember the day. Brie knew from the start that she wanted gold accents to go along with her classy theme of white and greenery. Do not let the simplistic sound fool you. These were the perfect touches to capture the very personalities that are JD and Brie. The florals and greenery provided by Sara Beth's Florist out of Mobile, AL were the perfect way to bring the gold Chiavari chairs and charger plates provided by Port City Rentals to life. When Brie was searching for décor to use, she made sure to look for items that she could one day use in the home that she would build with JD. From the chairs that they sat in to the coffee mugs on their table, Brie's intentions were to make this day one to remember.

When the day finally arrived, Brie and her girls begin the day with a devotional brought by a family friend. JD's guys threw on their tuxes, while JD opened his thoughtful gift from his soon-to-be wife: a pair of cuff links that pictured his two sets of grandparents that were called home before this wedding day. After the many tears of awe and joy and laughter during first looks and prayers over the couple, it was finally that time!

Brie and JD decided the have their ceremony at JD's home church, the place where he grew up and where many of his family members attended. As you walked under the beautiful draping over the font door, your eyes caught all of the arrangements that were strategically placed to bring life into the room. The bridesmaids wore dusty blue dresses and smiles as they each snuck a peak of JD watching his gorgeous bride being escorted down the aisle by her father and her step father. Throughout the ceremony, there was not a dry eye in the room. Once the couple said "I do", pictures commenced as the guests made their way to the reception.

As guests entered the Community House in Jackson, AL, they were met with the warmth of the glowing candles and the smell of delicious food! Doshia's Inc. Catering, located in Leroy, AL, provided good food and great service to all of Brie and JD's closest friends and family. After the food was served and the cake was cut, it was time to really get the party started! Tommy Morse Band had the dance floor full until the last dance. After months of planning and anticipating, Brie and JD were able to leave as husband and wife, with a sparkler exit and a denim jacket that read "Mrs. Thomas" on the back.

There are many things that I love about weddings. The design, the food, the atmosphere... One of my absolute favorites would be watching two people so in love join together in holy matrimony. Love, what a beautiful gift that we have. After almost two years, this wedding still makes me smile when I remember the 21st night of September.
